In the second episode of the AT&T Turn Up The Love series ‘Young Heroes,’ Miles McKenna meets Charlie Bird, an activist and former mascot who faced adversity being a gay man at a conservative university. Charlie opens up to Miles about how he was scared to come out to his peers, and how he felt like he was wearing a mask both on and off the field. Miles and Charlie realize that LOVELOUD Festival is the perfect opportunity for Charlie to #TurnUpTheLove by performing loud and proud on stage—but this time, unmasked. Finally, he can get the love, acceptance, and recognition he’s always deserved.
