Episode 3 of the AT&T Turn Up The Love series ‘Young Heroes,’ follows Savannah Skyler, a 15-year-old LGBTQ+ activist working to give a voice to all LGBTQ+ youth who may not have a voice of their own.
When Savannah was 13, she took the stage at her church to share her testimony. As she began speaking about identifying as a lesbian, her microphone was abruptly cut off. Savannah decided to take this hardship and turn it into something positive. Together with Miles she sets out on a mission to make sure no one else is silenced again as she once was. And so the Pride Mic is born—a mic dedicated to helping other young heroes share their stories. The two attend Utah Youth Pride where the Pride Mic has its debut and we hear amazing and emotional stories from community members who share their truths.
